McMinn Central lost to Ooltewah back in April of 2025, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Thursday. The Chargers walked away with an 8-5 win over the Owls. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Chargers.

The team relied heavily on Hunter Rayburn, who went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. Bryce Hammond was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

McMinn Central's victory bumped their record up to 13-11. As for Ooltewah, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-13 record this season.

McMinn Central will face off against Chattanooga School for the Liberal Arts at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The Chargers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Eagles have averaged an impressive 9.5 runs per game this season. As for Ooltewah, they will welcome Rhea County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Golden Eagles have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.52 runs per game on average), something the Owls will no doubt try to take advantage of.
