Football Preview: Sacramento Dragons vs. Del Campo Cougars        
        
		
             Two dominant  backs in  Darrius Moore and  Bryce Smith are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Sacramento Dragons will be playing in front of their home fans against the Del Campo Cougars  at 1:00  p.m.  on Saturday. Sacramento's defense has only allowed 13.9  points per game  this season, so Del Campo's offense will have their work cut out for them.
 Last Friday,  everything came up roses for Sacramento against River City as the  squad secured  a  56-13 win. Given the Dragons' advantage  in MaxPreps' California football rankings  (they are ranked 211th, while the Raiders are ranked 535th), the result  wasn't entirely unexpected.
 This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to  Cordell Radcliffe and  Moore. Radcliffe rushed for 120 yards and three touchdowns on only 13 carries while  Moore rushed for 175 yards and a touchdown on only 11 carries. With that strong performance,  Moore is now averaging an impressive 109.3  rushing yards per game. Speaking of playmakers, who could forget  Damarie Taylor, who went all the way with a kickoff return for a touchdown.
 Sacramento was unstoppable on the ground and  finished the game with 315  rushing yards. That's the most  rushing yards they've posted since back in October of 2023.
 Meanwhile,  after soaring to 55  points the game before, Del Campo was a bit more limited  in their  contest  last Friday. They had to suffer through a   48-12 loss at the hands of Twelve Bridges. The Cougars were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at  41-6.
 Del Campo's  defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of  Smith, who rushed for 99 yards and a touchdown on only ten carries, and  Isaac Craig, who rushed for 75 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries. That's the most  rushing yards  Smith has posted since back in August.
 Del Campo has  been struggling recently as they've  lost five of their last six games,  which put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record  this season. As for Sacramento,  the  victory made it two in a row for them and  bumps their season record up to 7-3.
 Saturday's   match might be decided in the on the ground. Sacramento has been excellent on the ground this season,  having  averaged 190.9  rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Del Campo struggles in that department as   they've been averaging 212.6. It's looking like  Saturday's  matchup might have some serious battles in the trenches.
 Sacramento was able to grind out a solid  win over Del Campo when the teams last played  back in September of 2023, winning  19-6. Does  Sacramento have another victory up their sleeve, or will Del Campo turn the tables on them?  We'll have the answer soon enough.
