Basketball Recap: Queens Metro Starts Season with Win Against Summit Academy

Queens Metro gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Saturday. They came out on top against the Summit Academy Eagles by a score of 45-35. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Queens Metro also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2023.

Summit Academy's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jhency Pabon, who posted 12 points. Another player making a difference was Alana Rivers, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 19 boards.

Summit Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 6-5.

Queens Metro and Shenendehowa will round out the year against one another at at 12:40 p.m. on December 29th. As for Summit Academy, they will be taking part in a tournament against Irving at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
