Southern Prep Academy had to suffer through a rough 74-38 loss at the hands of Ezekiel Academy. Southern Prep Academy was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 40-18.
Despite their defeat, Southern Prep Academy saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Kevin Mason, who rushed for 208 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries, and also threw for 171 yards and two touchdowns, was perhaps the best of all. Another player making a difference was Jahziyah Anderson, who gained 92 total yards and three touchdowns.
Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Cornerstone Christian's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They were beaten by Jacksonville Christian Academy 46-7. Having soared to a lofty 42 points in the game before, Cornerstone Christian couldn't push the score so high this time.
Cornerstone Christian's defeat came about despite a quality game from Jess Nelson, who rushed for 108 yards and a touchdown on only nine carries. Nelson was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 65 yards.
The losses dropped Southern Prep Academy to 4-5 and Cornerstone Christian to 4-4.
Keep an eye on the end zone in Friday's game as the pair haven't had much trouble getting there this season. Southern Prep Academy commands a daunting offense this season, having averaged 5.1 touchdowns per game. However, it's not like Cornerstone Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.8 per game. With these two high-octane teams facing off on Friday, fans should be in for an exciting offensive matchup.
