Baseball Game Preview: Jackson Day Mariners vs. Piedmont Community Charter Patriots

Jackson Day hasn't had much luck against Piedmont Community Charter recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Jackson Day Mariners will welcome the Piedmont Community Charter Patriots at 5:00 p.m. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Jackson Day is headed into their home opener looking to turn things around after starting their season on the road. They lost 18-1 to SouthLake Christian Academy on Friday. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it seven in a row.

Jackson Day saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Owen Murphy, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Piedmont Community Charter came up short against North Hills Christian on Monday and fell 6-1. The Patriots have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
