Basketball Recap: Alleghany's Loss Ends Four-Game Winning Streak at Home

Alleghany was the 66-55 winner over Carroll County when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Alleghany Cougars took a 72-65 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Carroll County Cavaliers on Monday.

Alleghany's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-5. As for Carroll County, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 16-0.

Alleghany and Carroll County should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Virginia Rankings. Alleghany will take on James River at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday up 267 places (72 vs. 339). Alleghany will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive. Similarly, Carroll County (ranked 35th) will meet Glenvar (ranked 93rd) at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
