Softball Recap: Madison Comes Up Short

Madison extended their losing streak to 15 on Tuesday, dropping them down to 1-19. They lost 19-7 to the Rigby Trojans. Unfortunately, that's the fourth time they've come up short against the Trojans this season, with their most recent loss being a 17-6 defeat on Tuesday.

As for Rigby, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-5. The result was nothing new for the Trojans, who have now won nine contests by six runs or more so far this season.

For Rigby's part, Mikayla Dean and Evelyn Robins made a big impact no matter where they played. On the mound, Dean tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Meanwhile, Robins tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. At bat, Dean went 2-for-4 with one run, while Robins went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Those five RBI gave Robins a new career-high.

In other batting news, Sam Bishop was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Another player making a difference was Addie Cox, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI.

Coincidentally, Madison and Rigby will both be playing Thunder Ridge the next time they take the field. The Trojans will host the Titans at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, while the Bobcats will head out to face them at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
