Basketball Recap: Gianna Costantino Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Mckinley

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Maplewood, McDonald was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 43-22 margin over the McKinley Trojans. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Blue Devils also won the last time the pair played back in January.

McDonald got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Gianna Costantino out in front who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 12 boards. Another player making a difference was Gracie Callow, who posted nine points in addition to five boards and four steals.

McDonald's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-3. As for McKinley, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

McDonald will take on Western Reserve in a holiday battle at at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Western Reserve will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something McDonald surely won't give up without a fight. As for McKinley, they and Memorial will face off at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday without much rest having both just played. McKinley is facing Memorial at the right time seeing as Memorial is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
