The Ovid-Elsie Marauders will be playing at home against the Corunna Cavaliers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Ovid-Elsie focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Friday.
Ovid-Elsie stacked a ninth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Byron 62-10 at home. While fans of Ovid-Elsie might be used to big wins, the 52-point margin marked the team's biggest victory yet this season.
Ovid-Elsie had a senior duo take command as Ava Bates scored 25 points along with four steals and Evalyn Cole scored 15 points along with seven rebounds and six assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Bates has scored all season. Hailee Campbell was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, Corunna's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight defeat. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 30-29 to Clio. Corunna has not had much luck with Clio recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
The victory made it two in a row for Ovid-Elsie and bumps their season record up to 13-2. As for Corunna, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 11 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-14 record this season.
