Softball Recap: North Posey Beats Vincennes Lincoln for Their Sixth Straight Victory

North Posey came tearing into Thursday's contest with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the Vincennes Lincoln Alices with a sharp 8-2 victory. Considering the Vikings have won seven games by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

North Posey got a massive performance out of Morgan Lavanchy, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run. That's the most doubles Lavanchy has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Alyssa Heath, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: North Posey kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in four consecutive matchups.

North Posey's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-4. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. As for Vincennes Lincoln, they moved to 9-8 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

North Posey wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 14-8 win against Jasper on the 9th. As for Vincennes Lincoln, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 12-8 defeat against Castle on the 9th.
