Softball Recap: North Union Find Success

North Union won the last time they faced Graham Local and things went their way on Monday too. The Wildcats came out on top against the Falcons by a score of 6-3. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Wildcats.

Leah Cox made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two doubles and one RBI. Those three hits gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kennedy Harrah, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. Emma McElroy was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one run.

North Union was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .344 or higher in three consecutive contests.

The victory got North Union back to even at 8-8. As for Graham Local, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6.

Looking ahead, North Union will be playing in front of their home fans against Dublin Jerome at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The Wildcats are facing the Celtics at the right time seeing as the Celtics are stuck on a ten-game losing streak. As for Graham Local, they will take on Northwestern at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Falcons will also cruise into their next matchup with the timing on their side: the Warriors will have lost three straight heading into Tuesday's game.
