Baseball Recap: Melrose-Mindoro Beats Blair-Taylor for Their Seventh Straight Victory

Melrose-Mindoro came out on top against Blair-Taylor on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run first inning. The Mustangs skirted past the Wildcats 5-4. That's two games straight that the Mustangs have won by just one run.

Jacob Thesing and Jayce Stetzer were major factors while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Thesing pitched five innings while giving up three earned runs off three hits. Meanwhile, Stetzer tossed two innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. At the plate, Thesing went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI, while Stetzer went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs. That's the most stolen bases Stetzer has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Brady Blaken, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April.
