Basketball Game Preview: Lanham Christian Lions vs. Living Water Christian Warriors

The Lanham Christian Lions will face off against the Living Water Christian Warriors at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Lanham Christian is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Maryland's top teams: Georgetown Prep, who was ranked ninth at the time (Lanham Christian was ranked 13th). Lanham Christian took a 55-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of Georgetown Prep on Saturday. The Lions' loss signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Jamar Payen, who posted 12 points and seven boards. He is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last seven games he's played. Another player making a difference was Tre Ray, who put up 12 points.

Meanwhile, Living Water Christian won against Coastal Brigade back in February with 88 points and they decided to stick to that point total again back in February. Living Water Christian simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat New Life Christian Academy 88-34. Living Water Christian has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matchups by 24 points or more this season.

Living Water Christian's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-9. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 30.8 points. As for Lanham Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 23-6.
