Preview: Sealy Tigers vs. Silsbee Tigers
The Sealy Tigers will head out on the road to face off against the Silsbee Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Sealy sitting on three straight victories and Silsbee on ten.
Sealy can now show off four landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Friday. They blew past La Marque 54-7 at home.
Sealy can attribute much of their success to Reid Miller, who rushed for 109 yards and two touchdowns. Miller is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in the last three games he's played.
Meanwhile, it may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Silsbee ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They pulled ahead with a 21-20 photo finish over Jasper. The score was all tied up 7-7 at the break, but Silsbee was the better team in the second half.
Silsbee's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Michael Moshier, who rushed for 11 yards and two touchdowns. Silsbee also got help from Raydrian Baltrip who showed off his sure hands for 88 receiving yards.
Sealy's victory bumped their record up to 5-5. As for Silsbee, they pushed their record up to 10-0 with that victory, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season.
Sealy came out on top in a nail-biter against Silsbee in their previous meeting back in November of 2021, sneaking past 21-19. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Silsbee's Marquis Dodd, who rushed for 131 yards and two touchdowns.
