Basketball Recap: Covington Comes Up Short

Covington was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat dating back to last season. They had to suffer through a 74-16 loss at the hands of the Milford Bulldogs. The Owls were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 45-7.

Milford's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Amiya Smith, who dropped a triple-double on 11 points, 13 rebounds, and 12 assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaycee Rigsby, who posted 17 points and five steals.

Covington's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Milford, they pushed their record up to 12-3 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Bynum the next time they take the court. Milford will head out to face Bynum at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, while Covington will host them at 5:00 p.m. on January 14, 2025.
