Baseball Recap: Alexander Christian Academy Beats Covenant Classical for Their Ninth Straight Victory

Alexander Christian Academy put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top against the Covenant Classical Warriors by a score of 11-6.

Peighton Harrington and Landyn Cupp made a big impact while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Harrington tossed three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off one hit. Meanwhile, Cupp tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Harrington has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. At the plate, Harrington went 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base, while Cupp went 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Micah Gettler, who went 2-for-5 with two stolen bases, one triple, and one run. Gettler is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Titius Sloan, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Alexander Christian Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Alexander Christian Academy's win was their ninth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-0. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average this season. As for Covenant Classical, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-5.
