Basketball Recap: Eastern Randolph Comes Up Short

Eastern Randolph lost against Southwestern Randolph back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Eastern Randolph Wildcats lost 63-37 to the Southwestern Randolph Cougars. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 416th, while the Cougars are ranked 58th).

When it comes to explaining why Eastern Randolph lost, don't look at Cora Sparrow. Despite the final result, she went 5 of 9 on her way to 10 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Roxanne Davis, who posted eight points.

Eastern Randolph has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season. As for Southwestern Randolph, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 13-0.

Eastern Randolph wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 68-49 loss against Uwharrie Charter Academy on the 9th. As for Southwestern Randolph, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 52-36 win against Wheatmore on the 9th.
