Football Game Preview: East Ridge Knights vs. Dr. Phillips Panthers + Official Tickets

After each having a week off, the East Ridge Knights and the Dr. Phillips Panthers will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

East Ridge barely beat Celebration the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Knights took their contest last Friday with ease, bagging a 48-7 win over the Storm. The victory was just business as usual for the Knights, who after six games remain undefeated this season.

East Ridge's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Lamar Garrison led the charge by picking up 109 receiving yards and three TDs. Karon Palmer Jr was another key passer, throwing for 204 yards and three touchdowns on only 16 passes.

Meanwhile, you're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter and that's exactly how it played out for Dr. Phillips last Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that they blew Olympia out of the water with a 42-6 final score. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 28-6.

East Ridge better keep an eye on Zion Matthews. He was instrumental in Dr. Phillips' win, rushing for 187 yards and five scores while picking up 8.9 yards per carry, and also picking up 90 receiving yards and one TD. Those 187 rushing yards gave Matthews a new career-high.

Dr. Phillips' run defense was locked in: Olympia could only muster 2.4 yards per carry. The Panthers didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 6.9.

East Ridge's win bumped their record up to 6-0. As for Dr. Phillips, their victory bumped their record up to 5-1.
