Malta/Whitewater/Saco/Dodson won the last time they faced Conrad and things went their way on Monday too. The Mustangs blew past the Cowboys 45-18.

A big part of Malta/Whitewater/Saco/Dodson's win came down to the chemistry between Kazner Oxarart and his top target Dawson Hammond. Oxarart threw for 203 yards and five TDs while completing 75% of his passes while Hammond picked up 106 receiving yards and three scores. Those 203 passing yards gave Oxarart a new career-high. Laytin Erickson was in the mix too, providing Malta/Whitewater/Saco/Dodson with two touchdowns.

Malta/Whitewater/Saco/Dodson didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Conrad to a completion percentage of just 50%. That dominant aerial defense primarily came from four players: Oxarart, Hammond, Landon Retan, and Erickson, who each logged one passes deflected. Given Oxarart's standout performance, it's clear Conrad's secondary just wasn't on the same level.

Malta/Whitewater/Saco/Dodson's defense didn't let Evan Walter., get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for three sacks. The team can thank two different players for their defensive prowess: Straud Sims and Rylee Brusse, who each picked up 0.5 sacks apiece.

Conrad lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Carsen Sullivan, who picked up 68 receiving yards and a pair of TDs. The team also got some help courtesy of Tegan Jones, who rushed for 84 yards and one score.

Malta/Whitewater/Saco/Dodson's record is now 3-0. As for Conrad, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-2.

Looking ahead, Malta/Whitewater/Saco/Dodson will host Wolf Point/Frazer/Lustre Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Conrad, they will face off against Powell County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
