Softball Recap: Humble Takes a Loss

Humble lost against King back in March of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Humble Wildcats lost 9-0 to the King Panthers. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Natalie Garcia spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and seven unearned) runs on five hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances.

Humble's defeat dropped their record down to 4-13. As for King, their victory bumped their record up to 11-7.

Humble and King could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. Humble will face off against Summer Creek at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday down 837 places (842 vs. 5). Humble has given up an average of 9.5 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week. Similarly, King (ranked 164th) will meet Kingwood (ranked 11th) at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
