Volleyball Recap: Fairmont Prep Comes Up Short

If Fairmont Prep was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Garden Grove on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Huskies fell just short of the Rancho Alamitos Vaqueros by a score of 3-2 on Friday. The Huskies were not able to make up for their loss to the Vaqueros from their previous meeting back in August of 2024.

Fairmont Prep started the match hot and won the first two sets, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 15-25, 19-25, 25-16, 25-18, 15-8.

Fairmont Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Rancho Alamitos, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-1.

Looking ahead, Fairmont Prep will be playing in front of their home fans against Acaciawood at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Huskies are facing the Golden Eagles at the right time seeing as the Golden Eagles are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Rancho Alamitos, they will square off against Estancia at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
