Football Recap: Dewey Piles Up the Points Against Webster

Dewey won the last time they faced Webster and things went their way on Thursday too. The Bulldoggers claimed a resounding 49-14 victory over the Warriors. The Bulldoggers pushed the score to 42-8 by the end of the third, a deficit the Warriors had no chance of recovering from.

Dewey's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Eddie Rice, who rushed for 86 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 11 carries. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Vallen, who rushed for 137 yards on only 11 carries.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Dewey was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 385 rushing yards. They are a perfect 3-0 when they've run for more than 200 yards.

Dewey didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Mason Spears and Kade Lackey.

Despite the defeat, Webster saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Khalil Stoker rushed for 89 yards and two TDs. Jaiden Abili also deserves some recognition as he rushed for his first rushing yard of the season.

The win made it two in a row for Dewey and bumps their season record up to 3-4. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 20 points in those games. As for Webster, their loss dropped their record down to 0-7.

Dewey has already played their next matchup, a 17-12 defeat against Sperry on the 23rd. As for Webster, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 79-8 loss against Sequoyah on the 23rd.
