Baseball Recap: Roosevelt Takes a Loss

Roosevelt suffered their closest loss since April 7th on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Cleveland Warriors by a score of 6-4. The Roughriders were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Warriors apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2025.

Oliver Immel put in work while hitting and pitching. He pitched four innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off three hits. That's the fewest earned runs he has allowed since back in March. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Cal Hare was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. David Purkey was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

This is the second loss in a row for Roosevelt and nudges their season record down to 5-13. As for Cleveland, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season.

While Roosevelt had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
