Football Recap: Eric Walker Ii Key Part of Team Effort in Ducks Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against LBJ Austin, Taylor was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They took down the Travis Rebels 34-16. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Ducks also won the last time the pair played back in November of 2024.

Taylor's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Eric Walker Ii, who rushed for 114 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Walker Ii is becoming a predictor of the Ducks' success: when he posts at least 80 rushing yards the team is 5-2 (and 0-3 when he doesn't). Another receiver making a difference was Elijah Afenkhena, who picked up 94 receiving yards and two TDs.

Taylor is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 5-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 46.7 points over those games. As for Travis, their loss dropped their record down to 4-6.

Coming up, Taylor will challenge Canyon Lake at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Travis does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
