League recap: Clearfield extends winning streak with victory over Central Mountain

Clearfield extended the longest winning streak in Mountain this week by beating Central Mountain, 35-14. The victory was the fifth in a row for the team.

Clearfield moved up to 122 from 182 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Bison were able to make the jump by beating the Wildcats 35-14.

Austin Cunningham and Bradi Moore gave Central a balanced attack through the air and ground last week. Cunningham threw for 111 yards and three touchdowns, while Moore ran for 158 yards. Cunningham also contributed to the rushing game with 152 yards on the ground.

Cameron Tobias provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Penns Valley Area defeated Huntingdon. He completed 22 passes for 256 yards and one touchdown and also ran for 53 yards. Tobias' favorite target this week was Luke Weaver, who caught six passes for 103 yards.

Trey Jordan was the best wideout in the league this week as Clearfield bested Central Mountain. Jordan racked up three receptions for 114 yards. Shawn Lord helped Clearfield's passing attack out by catching one ball for 10 yards.

6-foot-2 quarterback Tobias of the Rams is the league leader in passing yards this season with 666. He has also thrown two touchdowns. On the ground, Tyrone's James Oliver has rushed for 862 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Jordan. The Clearfield star has 18 catches for 537 yards.

A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Bison take on Bellefonte. Clearfield is currently in first, while the Raiders are in fifth.

The Golden Eagles took down Bellefonte 48-10 last week, the largest margin of any game. Erik Wagner threw for 75 yards and one touchdown and ran for 20 yards in the win.
