Softball Recap: Garden Grove Has No Trouble Against Firebaugh

Garden Grove won against Ocean View on Friday with 15 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Saturday. Everything went the Argonauts' way against the Firebaugh Falcons as they made off with a 15-5 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Argonauts.

Jazmine Santos made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, she posted five strikeouts, the most she's had since back in February. She was even better at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That home run marked the first that she launched this season.

In other batting news, Hailee Le was a standout: she scored three runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4. Tayler Dooley was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Garden Grove always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .618. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Garden Grove's record is now 6-8. As for Firebaugh, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Garden Grove will welcome Trabuco Hills at 5:15 p.m. on Monday. The Argonauts are facing the Mustangs at the right time seeing as the Mustangs are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Firebaugh, they will be playing at home against Hoover at 3:45 p.m. on Monday.
