Soccer Game Preview: Huntingdon vs. McKenzie

The Huntingdon Mustangs will venture away from home to square off against the McKenzie Rebels at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Huntingdon is coming into the matchup on a five-game losing streak.

Last Tuesday, Huntingdon didn't have quite enough to beat Obion County and fell 3-2.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask McKenzie). They put the hurt on Clarksburg with a sharp 10-1 win last Monday.

McKenzie's offense was hitting the Rockets from everywhere, as eight different players booted in a goal. Guillermo Hickman led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by himself.

The victory got McKenzie back to even at 1-1-2. As for Huntingdon, their loss dropped their record down to 1-5.

Huntingdon took their win against McKenzie in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 5-2 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mustangs since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
