Basketball Recap: Wallace-Rose Hill Drops Season-High Score on South Lenoir

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Wallace-Rose Hill). They claimed a resounding 62-35 victory over the South Lenoir Blue Devils. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Bulldogs as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Wallace-Rose Hill was led to victory by Savannah Smith and Nevaeh Dobson. Smith posted 20 points and four steals, while Dobson went 6 of 11 en route to 13 points along with six blocks and three steals. The dominant performance also gave Dobson a new career-high in assists (four). Another player making a difference was Analeise Rivenbark, who had 11 points and eight rebounds.

Wallace-Rose Hill smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 12 consecutive contests.

Despite the loss, South Lenoir had strong showings from Tyazhia Midgett, who put up 13 points and eight boards, and Gracie Tyndall, who went 7 for 14 on her way to 14 points. Midgett is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last six games she's played.

Wallace-Rose Hill's victory ended an eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-9. As for South Lenoir, their defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-15.

Wallace-Rose Hill has already played their next match (against North Lenoir), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. South Lenoir and Dixon will face off at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday without much rest having both just played.
