The South Windsor Bobcats will head out to take on the Glastonbury Guardians at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. South Windsor will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.
South Windsor is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They were the clear victors by a 60-38 margin over East Hartford on Friday. The Bobcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matchups by 22 points or more this season.

South Windsor got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jalil Montgomery out in front who rushed for 224 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 9.7 yards per carry. Those 224 rushing yards gave Montgomery a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jaden Bridgeforth, who rushed for 240 yards and a pair of scores on only ten carries.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: South Windsor was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 644 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 169 rushing yards in 11 consecutive games dating back to last season.
South Windsor didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Justin Flor and Colton Flaherty.
Meanwhile, Glastonbury faced Maloney in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Guardians walked away with a 33-20 victory over the Spartans.
Glastonbury's win came from a few key players South Windsor will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Dante Casdia, who rushed for 125 yards and two TDs. His rushing production has been exceptional as that marked his fifth straight game with at least 125 rushing yards. Connor Finnerty was another key player, rushing for 29 yards and one touchdown.
South Windsor's record now sits at 6-2. As for Glastonbury, their record is now 5-3.
Friday's contest might be decided on the ground. South Windsor has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 349.1 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Glastonbury struggles in that department as they've been averaging 166.6 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground.
South Windsor came up short against Glastonbury when the teams last played back in October of 2022, falling 31-21. Thankfully for the Bobcats, Jack Petrone (who rushed for 233 yards and three scores while picking up 8.6 yards per carry) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
