Baseball Recap: Mullins Comes Up Short

Mullins was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 30-3 to the Loris Lions. If the Auctioneers were looking for revenge after losing 15-0 to the Lions when the teams met back in March of 2021, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Damoreon Gerald made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole Three bases. Zayan Grant also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Mullins' loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Loris, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season.

Mullins will host Marion at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Mullins has given up an average of 17 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week. As for Loris, they are taking a road trip to square off against Aynor at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
