Football Recap: Freedom Starts Season with Loss at Home + How To Watch

Freedom unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They had to suffer through an 83-19 loss at the hands of the East Union Lancers. The Falcons were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 69-19.

Freedom lost on Friday despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Tah'Kai Edwards, who threw for 176 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 16 passes, and also rushed for 43 yards and one score.

Kirk Simoni was a one-man wrecking crew For East Union. as he threw for 345 yards and five TDs while completing 82.4% of his passes, and also rushed for 38 yards and one touchdown. Jacob Paris was Simoni's top target, picking up 80 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

East Union has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Freedom wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 34-6 defeat against Maria Carrillo on the 5th. As for East Union, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 53-12 victory against Johansen on the 5th.
