Archbishop Carroll and Immaculata-La Salle are an even 3-3 against one another since February of 2016, but likely not for long. The Archbishop Carroll Bulldogs are taking a road trip to square off against the Immaculata-La Salle Royal Lions at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Archbishop Carroll will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
Last Tuesday, Archbishop Carroll had just enough and edged out Brito 5-3.
STEVEN NUNEZ tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits over five innings pitched. He is becoming a predictor of Archbishop Carroll's success: when he allows at most three hits the team is 3-0-1 (and 4-5 when he doesn't).

At the plate, ANGELLO CHAVIANO was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with three RBI. Archbishop Carroll is undefeated when CHAVIANO posts three or more RBI, but 4-5-1 otherwise. DAMIAN ESPINALES also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Meanwhile, Immaculata-La Salle fell victim to True North Classical Academy and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Titans. The contest marked the first time this year in which the Royal Lions were not able to get on the board.
Alexander Corzo was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out eight batters over 4.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Immaculata-La Salle saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jeremy Fornos, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base.
With the loss, Immaculata-La Salle broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 7-3. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 9.5 runs. As for Archbishop Carroll, their win bumped their record up to 7-5-1.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Archbishop Carroll has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.8 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Immaculata-La Salle struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.6 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Archbishop Carroll took their victory against Immaculata-La Salle in their previous matchup back in February of 2024 by a conclusive 9-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for Archbishop Carroll since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
