Baseball Game Preview: Kapolei Hurricanes vs. Nanakuli Golden Hawks

After both having extra time off, the Kapolei Hurricanes and the Nanakuli Golden Hawks will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Kapolei will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

Kapolei not only won last Saturday, but they posted their biggest win since March 30, 2024. They put the hurt on Kalaheo with a sharp 19-5 win.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Nanakuli, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Wednesday. They skirted past McKinley 6-5.

Hunter Kealoha made a splash while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over five innings pitched. Kealoha was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-2. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Kaison Ellis was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing five bases while going 3-for-3.

Nanakuli's victory ended a three-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-1. As for Kapolei, their win bumped their record up to 3-0.
