Softball Recap: Pickering Red Devils vs. Plain Dealing Lions
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Pickering had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They blew past the Plain Dealing Lions 15-4. The win was some much needed relief for Pickering as it spelled an end to their nine-game losing streak.
Loryn Bailey was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two triples, five RBI, and a run. Alayna Yates was another key contributor, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3.
On Plain Dealing's side, they saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sophie Green, who went 2-for-3 with an RBI.
Pickering's victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-14. As for Plain Dealing, their defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-8.
Pickering is on the road again on Tuesday to play Oak Grove at 5:00 p.m. Oak Grove is coming into the contest with three straight wins at home, so Pickering will have to stop a team with plenty of momentum. Plain Dealing does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
