Basketball Recap: High Island Takes a Loss

High Island was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were dealt a 47-17 loss at the hands of the Cambridge Lions.

High Island's defeat dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Cambridge, their victory ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-1.

High Island and Cambridge will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next games. The next time the Cardinals see the court they'll take on Deweyville at 12:45 p.m. on the 29th. As for Cambridge, their break will end when they face First Baptist at 7:00 p.m. on January 6, 2026.
