Football Recap: Acadiana Christian Takes a Loss

Acadiana Christian extended their losing streak to four on Friday, dropping them down to 1-6. They came up short against the Northside Lions Sports Association Lions, falling 49-28. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Defenders came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' football rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 294th in Louisiana, while the Lions are ranked 1032nd in Texas).

As for Northside Lions Sports Association, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 5-3. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Northside Lions Sports Association was led to victory by Deklen Kearney and Tennyson Vest. Kearney gained 126 total yards and three touchdowns, while Vest threw for 222 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 86.7% of his passes. Those 222 passing yards gave Vest a new career-high.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Acadiana Christian will face off against Christian Home Educators Fellowship at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Defenders will be up against the Patriots' rather soft defense (which has allowed 47.89 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Northside Lions Sports Association, they will take on Warren at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
