Football Recap: Tyler Piles Up the Points Against Seagoville

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Tyler Legacy, Tyler was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They breezed past the Seagoville Dragons to the tune of 63-0. Given the Lions' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 247th, while the Dragons are ranked 631st) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Cadarius McMiller was nothing short of spectacular: he rushed for 97 yards and five touchdowns on only eight carries, and also picked up 38 receiving yards and one TD. Those five rushing touchdowns gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Caden J Granberry, who threw for 53 yards and three TDs.

Tyler's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Seagoville, they now also have a losing record of 1-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tyler will take on Lufkin at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Seagoville, they will face off against Wilson at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. The game will give the Dragons their first taste of in-conference action this season.
