Softball Recap: Dobie Comes Up Short

After soaring to ten runs the game before, Dobie was a bit more limited in their game on Tuesday. They came up short against the La Porte Bulldogs, falling 12-2. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Persephone Soria was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-2. The team also got some help courtesy of Amaya Corona, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Dobie's defeat dropped their record down to 11-9. As for La Porte, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-3-1 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Dobie will face off against Pasadena Memorial at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Pasadena Memorial has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.22 runs per game on average), something Dobie will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for La Porte, they will take on Friendswood at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (La Porte 3.1, Friendswood 1.6) so any runs scored will be well earned.
