Softball Recap: Grant Sets Scoring Season-High Against Van Nuys

Grant extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 16 on Monday, dropping their season record down to 0-13 in the process. They lost 32-9 to the Van Nuys Wolves. On the bright side, the nine- run performance marked the Lancers' highest-scoring game to date.

Allisonne Quintanilla was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in four of her six plate appearances with one run and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Nazareth Ramirez, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one double.

As for Van Nuys, their record is now 9-10. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matchups by ten runs or more this season.

On Van Nuys' side, they got a massive performance out of Nadia Ubaldo, who went 3-for-4 with four stolen bases, four runs, and four RBI. Those four RBI gave Ubaldo a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Isabella Espinoza, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with one home run, four stolen bases, and three runs.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Grant will head out to face off against Sherman Oaks CES at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Knights will roll in looking for their 16th straight win, something the Lancers surely won't give up without a fight. As for Van Nuys, they will venture away from home to challenge Monroe at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Vikings have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.79 runs per game on average), something the Wolves will no doubt try to take advantage of.
