Softball Recap: Radford Takes a Loss

Radford was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the Galax Maroon Tide, falling 13-3. The Bobcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Maroon Tide apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Radford saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Raeleigh Mills, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI. Riley Akers also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Radford's record is now 1-3. As for Galax, their win bumped their record up to 2-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought as Radford Bobcats duke it out with Patrick County Cougars at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Galax, they will square off against Bland County at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bears have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 16.4 runs per game on average), something the Maroon Tide will no doubt try to take advantage of.
