Volleyball Game Preview: Batavia Blue Devils vs. Sutherland Knights

Batavia is 0-10 against Sutherland since October of 2019 but things could change on Saturday. The Blue Devils will challenge the Knights at 12:30 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Saturday.

Batavia took a loss when they played away from home last Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They blew past Brockport 3-0. Batavia not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since October 17, 2024 (when they won 3-0).

Meanwhile, Sutherland entered their tilt with Mendon on Thursday with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. They put the hurt on the Vikings with a sharp 3-0 victory.

Sutherland walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the second set). The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-9, 25-19.

Sutherland's victory bumped their record up to 30-2-2. As for Batavia, their win bumped their record up to 2-3.

Batavia might still be hurting after the 3-0 loss they got from Sutherland in their previous matchup back in September. Can the Blue Devils avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
