Preview: St. Stephen's & St. Agnes Saints vs. St. Albans Bulldogs
St. Stephen's & St. Agnes has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge The St. Albans Bulldogs at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. St. Stephen's & St. Agnes comes in on a streak of failing to score more than ten points in their last three games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
Last Saturday, things could have been worse for St. Stephen's & St. Agnes, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 28-10 loss to Bullis.
Despite the loss, St. Stephen's & St. Agnes got a solid performance out of Luke Pascal, who picked up 119 receiving yards and a touchdown. Pascal was no stranger to the big play, cutting upfield for a catch that went for 68 yards.
Meanwhile, St. Albans fell victim to Episcopal's stalwart defense on Saturday and couldn't make it onto the board. They were the victim of a rough 21-0 defeat at the hands of the Maroon.
St. Stephen's & St. Agnes' loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 2-5. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 6.3 points per game. As for St. Albans, they now have a losing record at 3-4.
St. Stephen's & St. Agnes beat St. Albans 23-10 when the teams last played back in October of 2022. The rematch might be a little tougher for St. Stephen's & St. Agnes since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
