Baseball Recap: Carlinville's Win Ends Five-Game Losing Streak on the Road

Carlinville's game on Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They walked away with a 5-2 victory over the Carrollton Hawks. Surprisingly, this marked the Cavaliers' fifth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Noah Convery spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on five hits and racked up six Ks. He has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Carlinville's win was truly a team effort as seven different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Aiden Wagner, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

As for Carrollton, they will challenge Pleasant Hill/Western at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Wolves have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 14.64 runs per game on average), something the Hawks will no doubt try to take advantage of.
