Softball Recap: Deep Creek Now 8-2 over Last Ten Games

Deep Creek hadn't done well against Grassfield recently (they were 1-7-1 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Hornets never let the Grizzlies get on the board and left with a 4-0 victory. That's two games straight that the Hornets have won by exactly four runs.

Lilly B was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 12 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one double. That double marked the first that she has hit this season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Hannah Liddell, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one RBI.

Deep Creek has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Grassfield, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-4.
