Central Cabarrus hasn't had much luck against East Rowan recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Central Cabarrus Vikings will venture away from home to square off against the East Rowan Mustangs at 7:00 p.m.
On Friday, Central Cabarrus came up short against Carson and fell 7-3.
Jackson Parsons was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one double. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in hits (two).
Meanwhile, East Rowan put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They put the hurt on Northwest Cabarrus with a sharp 13-6 win. 13 seems to be a good number for the Mustangs as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.
Harrison Ailshie made a splash no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. Ailshie was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one double.
In other pitching news, Andrew Myrick looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.
Back at the plate, Keaton Walker and Sam Blackwelder did most of the damage at the plate: Walker went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI, while Blackwelder scored two runs while going 2-for-4. Will Klingler was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing two bases.
East Rowan pushed their record up to 3-0 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Central Cabarrus, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.
Central Cabarrus came up short against East Rowan in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, falling 9-6. Can Central Cabarrus avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
