Soccer Recap: Alton Takes a Loss

Alton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Belleville West Maroons. One thing that didn't help Alton's chances was the red card they were dealt courtesy of Jillian Dwiggins.

Alton's goal came courtesy of Ellen Anderson, who's now up to seven this season.

Alton's defeat dropped their record down to 3-18. As for Belleville West, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 12-10-1.

Coming up, Alton will challenge Jacksonville at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Jacksonville will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more goals each match than the last. Belleville West does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
