Softball Recap: Eastern Takes a Loss

Eastern fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Audubon on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 9-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Green Wave. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Vikings of the 1-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

Eastern's loss dropped their record down to 7-13. As for Audubon, they pushed their record up to 17-7 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Eastern will challenge Cherokee at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. The Chiefs' pitching crew has only allowed 1.8 runs per game this season, so the Vikings' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Audubon, they will host Bordentown at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Green Wave are facing the Scotties at the right time seeing as the Scotties are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
