Baseball Game Preview: Sigourney Savages vs. Iowa Valley Tigers

Sigourney is a perfect 10-0 against Iowa Valley since May of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Savages will square off against the Tigers at 5:30 p.m. Sigourney knows how to get runs on the board -- the squad has finished with ten runs or more in their past three matches -- so hopefully Iowa Valley likes a good challenge.

On Friday, Sigourney got the win against Belle Plaine by a conclusive 17-1. The result was nothing new for the Savages, who have now won 14 games by six runs or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, Iowa Valley hadn't done well against B-G-M recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Tigers came out on top against the Bears by a score of 8-3. Winning may never get old, but the Tigers sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Sigourney's win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.1 runs over those games. As for Iowa Valley, the win got them back to even at 7-7.

Sigourney took their victory against Iowa Valley in their previous meeting on June 2nd by a conclusive 13-3 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Savages since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
