Baseball Recap: North Olmsted Triumphs

North Olmsted's game on Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out the Normandy Invaders 3-2. This was a revenge game for the Eagles: when they faced off against the Invaders two weeks ago, they had to take a 10-0 loss.

Tyler Zatta spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on six hits. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because North Olmsted is 3-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 4-11 otherwise.

At the plate, Darren Krider was excellent, going 1-for-3 with three stolen bases and one RBI. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Anthony DAlessandro, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one run.

North Olmsted's victory bumped their record up to 7-12. As for Normandy, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 9-14 record.

Looking ahead, Normandy will be playing in front of their home fans against Medina Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. North Olmsted will be paying especially close attention to the Invaders' game: after the Invaders face off against the Knights, they'll take on North Olmsted again at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
