Basketball Recap: IDEA Frontier College Prep Comes Up Short

IDEA Frontier College Prep was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 22nd straight loss dating back to last season. They had to suffer through a 90-43 loss at the hands of the Raymondville Bearkats. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against IDEA Frontier College Prep this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 73-32 back in December of 2024.

Leading Raymondville to victory were Colt Cavazos and Jaden Mendez. Cavazos went 10 for 18 en route to 22 points and eight rebounds, while Mendez dropped a double-double on 20 points and 12 boards. The contest was Cavazos' third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Carson Tamez, who posted seven points in addition to seven assists and seven steals.

IDEA Frontier College Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 0-17. As for Raymondville, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 15-7.

IDEA Frontier College Prep will face off against IDEA Sports Park at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Raymondville, they will challenge Progreso at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Raymondville is facing Progreso at the right time seeing as Progreso is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
